Is this particular formula recommended if I am also nursing but need to supplement, or only if the bay is only on the formula exclusively?

Congratulations on the pregnancy! A box of Lebenswert stage 1 makes about 116 fluid ounces of formula. We currently have a limit of 5 boxes per client per day. Be sure to place your order as close to 10am CST as possible, because we will meet our daily order limit VERY quickly. 🙂
Thanks! I am reading a little bit more about the HIPP follow on formula and stage 3 formulas. Would that be better because LO is already 10 months? I was going with Lebenswert because it is sweetened with lacoste.

You can use stage 1 throughout the first year of life. We do not stock stages 2 or 3 because they do contain maltodextrin and are essentially the same as Holle stages 2 and 3.
How long does the box last once opened?
Does one brand last longer once opened than another? We will only be using it make one bottle a day or every other day
Holle recommends tossing the formula after it has been opened for 2 weeks, and HiPP recommends doing so after 3 weeks (HiPP contains more formula).

Do you think it is ok to mix Holle Stage 1 and this new Lebenswert formula? I am switching from Holle to Lebenswert and I thought I would gradually switch over. But then I also realized I just purchased 2 more Holle Stage 1’s (as the Lebenswert was sold out) do you think it is a bad idea to bounce back and forth? Thanks!!
It shouldn’t be a problem at all. Other than the maltodextrin, the formulas are practically identical.

My apologies. Unfortunately we cannot prevent or predict shipping delays with overseas shipping. Hopefully it will be available in the next day or so, but often times we do not know until the morning of that the formula is being delivered on any given day. We are doing everything possible to make this formula accessible for parents in the states, but there are many factors outside of our control that make it rather challenging.

Holle 1 seems to constipate my 4 month old. Does Lebenswert have any different properties that could potentially help with this situation? Right now I’m switching her from Holle 1 to Baby’s Only but I would much rather use a Holle or Hipp formula. Would Hipp be worth trying? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If Holle 1 is causing constipation I would recommend trying HiPP. It contains ingredients to help aid digestion.
I’m having the same problem with my 4 month old. Doctor has suggested giving 2 ounces of water each day but we haven’t been successful with getting him to drink that yet. Stools are very hard and he seems to be in pain when passing them. Did you have luck switching to HiPP?

I am desperately searching for Lebenswert stage 1. Sorry to hear about your damaged shipments. Is there any chance you would sell the damaged Lebenswert as discontinued products? If not, what would be the estimated date for Lebenswert coming back in stock?
Also, do you know if there is any difference in taste between Holle stage 1 and Lebenswert stage 1? Does the lactose vs maltodextrin alter the taste? My baby despises bottles, so don’t want to confuse him with different tastes, as I fear he might reject the bottle again 🙁

The damaged shipments were actually only Holle 1 and Holle 2. We are sold out of Lebenswert and anxiously waiting our shipments! Hopefully we will have more in the next 2-3 days. I am uncertain of taste differences.

How long is the formula good for after you open the package, if it is kept in a sealed plastic container? Also, how long in advance can you make it if it is not being refrigerated?

It is recommended to discard the formula after 2 weeks of being opened. If the prepared formula is not being refrigerated, it should be consumed within 1 hour of mixing- Same as American formula.

The box is labeled “from birth,” which is fairly ambiguous. Stage 2 does have more iron in it than stage 1, which is important b/c a baby’s natural iron stores begin to deplete at 6 months of age. I recommend reading this article that addresses the topic of first infant milks vs follow on milks.

We just ordered this formula and are looking to only give our son about 4oz a day to supplement with breastfeeding. I know that it only keeps for two weeks after being opened. Do you know if it would keep longer if I stored the powder in the freezer? Or is there another way to keep it longer? I don’t think we would get through a package before it expires. Yes, the membership fee is a convenience fee of sorts. By paying the fee, you are avoiding the daily ordering window, formula shortages, and ordering limits. You still pay for formula and shipping, but you do not have to worry about running out of formula, which for many families is quite important.

My baby is 5 months. I’m starting to introduce solids to my baby and am also breastfeeding. When my baby latches he gets a great amount at each feeding but not when I pump. When I’m away from him I would like a supplement formula. Is this formula okay to use to supplement while introducing solids?

I am wondering if there have been any cases of babies not liking this formula? I will be returning to work at the end of March and don’t want to open a box till then. The problem is my window to returning the rest of the boxes would have passed and I won’t know if my son will take the formula (he’s exclusive breastfeeding at the moment) Any information will help. 🙂
Every baby is different, and every baby tolerates formula differently. We always recommended placing small orders initially to make sure a baby does well on a formula before placing a larger order.
