I just started supplementing holle -stage 2 to my 6.5 month old and I am wondering if it is making my son constipated because after he has his early afternoon bottle of it… he does not pass stool Til after I breast feed him the next morning ( still breastfeeding morning and night to start the weaning process). Is there something you recommend if this stays an issue? A different formula or different level? Or do you think it just takes some time to get used to? Thank you in advance !
I would give it at least 2 weeks. Does he seem content? If so, I would not worry about the changes in his bowel movements. If he is uncomfortable you could start him on a probiotic, or after 2 weeks try a different formula. Stage 2 does have more iron than stage 1, and iron can cause constipation. Perhaps if you decide to make a change switch to a stage 1 formula.
Are they all powdered or is it possible to order liquid formula?
My son has been on Hipp 1 since 7 weeks old. He will be 6 months old this Thursday. He drinks on average 4-5 oz every 3 hours and wakes up twice in the night to eat. I also make him homemade rice cereal, vegetables and fruits. He eats that twice per day. I am wondering if he needs something more satisfying. I also read about the higher content of aluminum In Hipp so I am now also wondering if I should switch him to Holle? Any advice would be great. Thank you😊
Question about boiling the water… I have to prepare bottles to send to daycare everyday. What are your suggestions on how to do that? I just purchased some of the Lebenswert 1. Thanks!!
Hi Maura! I recommend boiling a large batch of water and mixing enough formula powder for the day. When my son was in daycare, I used the Dr. Brown’s mixing pitcher to prepare a large batch each day, which I would then pour into individual bottles. I would store any leftover mixed formula in the fridge for up to 24 hours. https://www.amazon.com/Dr-Browns-Formula-Mixing-Pitcher/dp/B001I481LM Hope this helps!
Hello. If I warm up each bottle (5oz cold water each feeding) in a bottle warmer then add forumla and shake, is this okay ?
Yes, you can do this method.
Hi, I still have Hipp dutch version stage 2, can I still give it to my son? He’s now 1 year old. Thanks
The time is quite off, it’s 6:45pm
Looking for a formula for 7 month old that does NOT contain coconut oil… can you help?
You may try Holle Stage 2 or Lebenswert 2. Both of them do not use coconut oil. They use vegetable oils (palm oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil) all of which are from organic farming.
Hi I currently use Lebenswert. The pediatrician advised to select a more sensitive/hypoallergenic formula version (milk proteins hydrolyzed; soy-free). Which formula would you recommend? Is Lebenswert one of the cleanest/simplest? What are your thoughts on Pre-holle?
Most would use Hipp Pre-HA Hypoallergenic. This formula contains small amounts of protein components which are less foreign to the body, and reduce hypersensitivity to milk protein. But it would be best to consult your pediatrician.
How do I figure out how many servings to meet the nutritional facts? My 6 month old only has 1-2 4 oz bottles of Lebenswerts per day (the rest is breastmilk). Is she getting the recommended amount of daily iron? Thanks for any info!
For the first 6 months of life, breastfed babies will get what they need from their mother’s milk. She is getting more than enough amount of daily iron especially you are supplementing her with Lebenswert Stage 2.
This is the first time I’ll be putting my son on formula. Which one would you suggest we try first? He’ll be 3 months old.
We recommend you to start with Lebenswert Stage 1. It brings you the most nutritious infant formula for newborn babies and up and this formula is as natural and close to breastmilk as possible.
My daughters is 9 months and has been taking the lebenswert stage 1 and is eating solids but her pediatrician recommended that we switch to a hypoallergenic formula. Which would you recommend?
I have been exclusively breastfeeding my son for 6 months but want to begin to wean him off. Do you recommend using stage 1 or 2? Also, I thought the Lebenswert didn’t have melodextrin in it, but if I am understanding this correctly the stage 2 does have it in it?
I would use stage 2, as it is formulated for babies 6+ months. Yes, stage 1 Lebenswert is the only version of Lebenswert w/o maltodextrin in it. If you are concerned, I would use stage 1.
